One of the best decisions I ever made as a budding developer, was to join #techtwitter. This development community is by far the most supportive of all online communities I have ever been in.

While twitter is known for its toxic trolls that kill engagement in some communities, tech twitter thrives as a positive knowledge hub. Here is why:

Free Expert Advice

There's insurmountable resources for beginners on:

  • where to start coding

  • how to build networks

  • how to land Jobs in tech.

Thanks to twitter, millions like me are able to chat directly with web development experts like Danny Thompson @DThompsonDev ,a lead google executive from the United States. Danny is a legend. He gives free advice on web development frameworks, networking and even hosts spaces on Job hunting in tech.

Another notable figure representing no-coders is Nat @natmiletic,a successful Wordpress expert from Canada.Nat even has a free tutorial for Wordpress beginners on his website!

My inspiration to learn web development is fuelled by these two and tonnes of other development experts on the platform. As an entrepreneur ,Nat has been a resource for freelancers and entrepreneurs who use PHP and Wordpress.

Kyle Prinsloo @kylepdotco and Brad Traversy @traversymedia for freelancing in web development .Kyle and Brad have a great course online course Freelancing mastery Now where else will you get this kind of expert advice for free?

Everyday thousands share their step to step projects, their achievements and never ending challenges that resonates with other developers. Just when you are feeling stuck ,ready to give up, you are likely to come across a tweet addressing the same idea or a solution to your problem.

Then you don't feel stupid anymore. You also get to build your own network of followers and share what you are learning. There are twitter spaces with great conversations with developers from every tier of programming.

Inspirational stories

Stories of people who built Apps at 11 years old to experts who transitioned into code in their 40's, it's surreal.

Would you believe Danny Thompson @DThompsonDev used to flip burgers for a living? He transitioned into tech as a 30 year old and 10 years later he is a reputable google executive. Now if that doesn't fuel your fire,I don't know what will.

These stories inspire the community to grab opportunities tech, create pathways for upcoming developers to skip mistakes, find resources and become better developers.
